Wonderful experience. Lindsey and April were very customer focused. Dr. Guyette explained everything and put me at ease.

I had a great experience here. I went for a routine eye exam and was hoping for something more thorough than what I had been getting from the mall-based optometrists. TL;DR, I'll definitely be back. Here's some things I really appreciated:
    1. Dilation is encouraged and as a patient I was prepared for this when I made the appointment, when I received the appointment reminder, and at check in. At other places, I felt like dilation was being discouraged so they could offer an "Opto Photo" or whatever it's called which is not an equal replacement (basically, do you want fries with your eye exam?).
    2. My prescription was taken two times (the "which is better - 1 or 2, A or B" thing), once by an assistant, and then later confirmed by the doctor. We made a tweak the second time, which was really important to me, as getting the prescription as close to perfect as possible will directly affect how I see things for the next year. The doctor had absolutely no issues taking me through it again, and showed me the difference between my current glasses and new prescription. It was quite significant.
    3. I felt no pressure at all to purchase glasses there. I was given my pupilary distances on request without hassle. At other places, I've only felt pressured to buy things, and was never able to get a straight answer on my PD.

Have never written a review before, but wanted to share how grateful I am that my daughter suggested that I change opthalmologists and try Dr Patel at Albany Eye Associates. Unlike the assembly line experience elsewhere, Dr Patel gives you his time and full attention. He thoroughly explains findings, presents plans and answers questions. The technicians know their stuff, and likewise explain procedures, are polite and very professional. The same can be said for other office staff as well. And amazingly, visits may be long but are shorter than other places.
