Clean and Healthy New York wins victories for public health and environmental protection. They lobby industry to remove toxins from products and the NY State government to legislate safer standards for goods manufactured and sold in NY. Clean and Healthy New York and it's leaders work tirelessly to dig up the roots of environmental injustice. As an organization they strengthen their bonds with other socialally progressive grass roots organizations in order to collectively fight for environmental, racial, and class health and justice.
This is a community organization with a proven track-record of success in environmental health and justice policy. The leadership is outstanding, and their capacity to work in the field with others is excellent. With Bobbi Wilding at the helm, CHNY is poised to become an even more powerful voice for equity and accountability in the New York region and beyond.
Clean and Healthy New York went from a small startup project of Montana-based Women's Voices for the Earth to a widely-respected nationally-recognized Environmental Health Advocacy organization. CHNY is responsible for numerous market, regulatory and policy wins that are turning off the tap on toxic chemicals and making New York, and the entire country, safer and healthier.
