Prowess Test Prep

My son took a zoom course with Jim through Prowess and earned a 130 point jump in his score! What’s more, Jim did all the extras by being accessible to the parents with guidance about all the ancillary questions relevant to standardized testing and college admissions. And if he’s not confident on the answer, he’ll refer you to someone who is.

My son took a six week zoom SAT course with Jim at prowess. I was so impressed by Jim’s dedication and availability to my son. He provided direct access beyond the hours of the class and making himself available to answer questions , provide encouragement and give extra information if requested. My son enjoyed the class and process. If your child is motivated and interested in the process I’m not sure you’d be able to find a more involved teacher than Jim. Just so impressed and thankful.

My daughter benefited greatly from both 1-on-1 tutoring and the advanced prep course with Jim! She improved her score tremendously. His tools and tips led her to finishing all sections in the most recent SAT exam, something she was not able to do previously. I highly recommend Jim and Prowess Test Prep!!

Jim is an amazing teacher and guide. He not only teaches the material on the SAT, but also tips and tricks on how to deal with questions you might struggle with. Jim maintains a great learning environment and is always energized when teaching. I can't thank him enough for raising my SAT score.

We cannot thank Jim enough for his devotion and love for teaching. His interaction with parents and students is outstanding. His energy and dynamic teaching style really keeps the students engaged. At the beginning of my daughter's junior year in high school, Prowess test prep was recommended during my search for ACT and SAT preparation. Jim and I exchanged detailed emails and phone calls regarding her Pre-Act and PSAT grades in order to come up with a game plan. Jim recommended we begin by getting a math tutor to strengthen her math skills which is her weakest area of study. We did that for 8 months while continuing dialog with Jim on the best strategy to take the ACT and SAT. She took the ACT in March, and her grade went up 2 points. Last week she completed the SAT ZOOM prep course with Jim. He did an outstanding job with the students. He starts the course in a timely manner and works right up to the last minute. After the class and prior to the next one, parents are copied on what was done and what was recommended for the students to do next to prepare. He gave them things to work on in between classes, which were recommended/suggested, but not pressured. He suggested they take actual practice tests and submit them to him at their pace and he would grade them. My daughters practice test went from 1030 to 1230. The best part of the class is that he helps the students come up with strategies right up to the end. As the test gets closer, he fine tunes strategies to help, such as don't focus on one really difficult problem, work on the easy mistakes and study those... As a parent it was helpful to be included in "parent updates" so that I could help with suggesting time slots or strategies at home for SAT review with the already overwhelming schoolwork load. Jim has been an inspiration for us. If we had not taken Jim's course, we would not have had a regimented study plan that worked. We are forever grateful. My daughter took the SAT test this past Saturday and felt she did good on it...
