A week ago we had a blown fuse at the outlet due to the age of the materials used. Not only did Mel Carr Electric get us scheduled within a week, but when Gary showed up he was punctual and very professional.

We had a few mercury switches and one exposed sconce light box from the previous owners of the house. Not only was Gary very helpful and answered all of the questions we had as new homeowners, but he offered to address and fix the things we were concerned about.

The work was finished in about 2-3 hours and he gave us three different quotes which were all very reasonably priced. He truly went above and beyond. I really appreciated the fact that he wore boot covers and was very polite to my small dog. Gary definitely deserves a nice bonus or raise!

I needed some residential work. I contacted (phone and email) two recommended local electricians and they never replied. Called Mel Carr. They immediately set up an appointment for an estimate at no charge. Gary and Carlos arrived on time. We went over all the work needed. They seemed extremely knowledgeable. They said they could do and complete the job at that time and gave me an estimate which I thought was a little high. But knowing Mel Carr’s reputation for quality work, and the expression “you get what you pay for”, I gave them the ok. It took them a little less than 2 hours. They were so knowledgeable, efficient and polite, and explained everything. When Gary wrote up the bill, he said he overestimated some items and charged me about $150 less than the estimate, which I thought was more than fair. (I hope I don’t get Gary in trouble.) I highly recommend Mel Carr Electric.

Gary was very friendly and courteous when he came to give me estimates, and went over several different options with me. When it came time for the work to be done, Gary and Carlos did a great job replacing our two light fixtures. Fast and friendly service, and left everything tidy. Mel Carr was very easy to deal with (via text, email, and phone) and I highly recommend them.

After purchasing a mid-century home, it was necessary to have some electrical work done: upgrade the electrical panel, replace a cable to the meter, and swap out a light and ceiling fan. Gary did an outstanding job! He listened to all my ideas and concerns without cutting me off (which I appreciate), and addressed all my questions clearly. His attitude was friendly and professional, even though it was a terribly hot day for all this. Everything is cleaned up and working perfectly. Next week, he will be back to modernize some outlets and switches, and install a bathroom vent fan. The office staff I spoke with were also professional and very helpful. Excellent experience. I highly recommend Mel Carr Electric.

Edit to add: Second visit to update outlets and install the vent fan. Gary and Brock did another great day's work! I am so happy to have a vent that doesn't sound like a jet, and to have all safe, matching outlets and switches. The work is high quality, and the people are both professional and friendly. I will be calling again for future work.

The service was professional and thorough. Quote and scheduling was easy and accommodating. I had a 2 day job, the technicians Dan and Justin were very knowledgeable and neat. They explained everything being done and made extra effort to keep the modifications done as invisible as possible. Job was done in time stated even after adding other tasks.
