The sandwiches are always great here, made to order. It’s a hole in the wall, well worth stopping in. My go to place! Not much in atmosphere, but then again, the sun shines through the front windows, and there’s several tables to eat at and bask in the sun. They have their regulars and it seems like plenty of people keep discovering their food. Homemade bread pudding, great, hot or cold, deli sandwiches, and a lot more.
This little gem… if you are a NYC transplant like myself, let me say this: it is the closest thing to an bacon, egg and cheese from a NYC deli/cart that you can get in the capital region. The staff are friendly, food is fast and there are so many choices, including pancakes and hash browns. This is one of our favorite places to have breakfast and it does not disappoint.
Friday is fish fry day and they are excellent. Also highly recommend breakfast sandwiches and beef stroganoff. 😋
That is everything I have tried. Lol
This is one of the very few cafes that deliver to Voorheesville (GrubHub) and open New Years Day morning. The breakfast sandwiches that I ordered were perfect and so much better than our only other options, which were McDonald's & Dunkin Donuts. Our driver was prompt and was able to find us quickly. I'm keeping this cafe on my radar for future orders.
Updated review post covid. The folks at the Route 20 Cafe stayed open all through out the crisis and have come out better for it. Still have the best breakfast sandwiches and full breakfast hot off the grill, bar none (no microwaved egg or Denny’s chain breakfast here). Great lunch specials and grab and go or eat it there entrees for lunch and dinner. Always have traditional favorites like goulash and meatloaf and they come up with different meals all the time. If you don’t see something on the menu ask, nine times out of ten they can make it on the spot. It’s about buying local too, this is a mom and pop shop that uses local sources as well and supports people here, no corporate chain nonsense. If you support local buying and fresh, made to order food, then this is the place for you.
