Not your average PT -- best I've been to in my 15+ year fitness journey. I see Maria mainly for lower back and pelvic issues, although, I currently see her for preventative purposes as well! She established a baseline of pain and movement, and took me through a roadmap of where I could expect to be. Maria is incredibly knowledgeable, explains treatment plans thoroughly, listened carefully to my responses & input & put it all to good use. I would highly recommend Dr. Villarini to anyone dealing with chronic pain or discomfort, or simply to build a strength base and perform body mechanics analysis to add to your current strength and conditioning program. When I contacted Maria, I had had a broken foot months earlier and discomfort on my life side from my hip down my IT band, Knee with weakness in my ankle and foot. I met with Maria for several sessions. Each session provided questioning, strength building, conversation and a protocol for me to follow. She gave me stretches and strengthening exercises that I could do in my own home or gym at my own time. Each session added on the last and through this process, I gained my strength back in these specific areas of my body. The sessions gave me confidence that I could do this routine and get my strength back. We think of strength in our bodies with an overall fit appearance and ability. The strength I needed was specific and also subtle. I have these tools that I still do at home and that I can start doing again if I feel any weakness again. These sessions with Maria are informative, strengthening and empowering.
