First of all, I’d like to say that this cannot be the first publication for this author; Mr. Youngclaus must have published before under a pseudonym, for his creativity and poetic prowess with everything, imagery, density, allegory, words, are that of a seasoned poet. Little Planet Raisins is that good of a read - the most appealing I’ve had the pleasure to indulge in, in poetry! Mr. Youngclaus can weave emotional poetry out of just about anything anywhere it appears, as rich as the varied geography he has in this volume. The poems are such thought-provoking and inspiring pieces of literary work. I do not tire of reading them. I recommend this great collection wholeheartedly.
"Little Planet Raisins" this book is insightful and powerful in its totality, the work of someone who knows poetry. Its poems have the perfect balance of complexity and conveyance for you to figure out their message. You move faster through them because of the lack of stanzas. It is a wonderful read with very rich imagination and creativity that draw the audience’s attention and keeps them transported in 3D in the author’s worlds. Little Planet Raisins is definitely worth reading, particularly for those at the crossroads of life who are having difficulty figuring out what to do with their life. Many verses in this collection motivate the reader to listen to her/his heart and move forward in life. I am pleased to have discovered and read this gem, and I readily recommend it to all. It has it all, ghazal poetry, catalog poems, etc. A tip of my hat to its poet author.
This chapbook is a must-read that I recommend for people from all walks of life of any age. My own wandering thoughts and feelings are well reflected by the poet in most of his poems here, such as what comes to my mind when I’m in a familiar street. This collection makes artful use of old-age themes and nostalgic ideas in the poet’s own creative way with great density and imagination. I do not recall another time when I was so satiated by one single collection, one book of poetry. Such impressively unique literary versatility and a true prize-winner in my book, for sure! One of the greatest values I found in most of the poems in this collection is that they can be perceived and interpreted in more than one way, similar to the Bible and law books, with a very captivating voice and tone. The feelings and visions that these poems evoke are phenomenal, with their great artistic use of symbolism, imagery and allegory! Little Planet Raisins is a 5-Star winner!
Litte Planet Raisins by far is the most powerful book I've ever read. Jason Youngclaus reminds me of the Shakespeare of our times. He's a true legendary poet. It's truly amazing how a human being could possess such power over the English language.
Jason Youngclaus does an amazing job of keeping your attention and making you laugh. It's a good read for the subway or chilling at home. Would be great to get it to students. Wish I was reading this kind of material when I was in college. Hope you enjoy the book!
