What a nice little gem of a zoo. Brought our toddler while on vacation in Highland. He loved it. Quick to get through but not too quick. Some atypical zoo animals there. Able to get very close to most of them. Would definitely visit again.
Wonderful hidden gem - beautiful grounds and a unique variety of animals on site. The zoo is AZA-accredited and the animals are well cared for and have plenty of open space to roam. A great experience and educational resource for children and adults alike! You must reserve online prior to expected date/time of visit, but this is not a big deal (you don't have to pay until you arrive).
I loved this place i went today i saw a lot of animals and the most part was the red pandas i only saw one it was so cute and a saw lemurs and i saw a bearded dragon and more definitely recommend
Very cute place! The only downside was many of the animals weren’t there- inside or outside. We did see TONS of turkey vultures, lemurs, snakes, turtles, emus, a rabbit, fish, cranes, marmosets, and turkeys. There were no river otters or deer and many of the cages were empty so I’m not sure what would be in them. My son was 3 so his admission was free and it was $6 I believe for an adult ticket which was an extremely affordable price. The land and walkways were beautiful. If there weren’t so many empty cages, I would have given 5 stars. Woman at admission desk was very kind and informative!
I love this little, local zoo. If I ever need something to do with my kids, we come here. I think I might like it more than my kids. LOL. It takes about an hour to walk through and see everything. You can spend more or less time there. It just depends. They have restrooms in the large building in the center of the zoo. There’s a fenced in picnic type of area right by the entrance to the actual zoo. The gift shop is where you buy tickets and we usually end up buying things on the way out.
