One of my favorite blocks in all of BK.
Influenced by Jacobs' theories, vest-pocket parks were small green spaces meant to be located in the middle of neighborhoods, a departure from the larger parks and ball fields Moses tended to favor. To Jacobs, parks would only be popular if they were small enough, far enough from other parks, and placed in accessible enough locations to feel full and thriving.

Great local park, though not huge. Lots of seating areas, as well as a small playground near the back. It is clean and well-maintained!

Cobble Hill Park is a tiny, square park in Brooklyn Heights. <p>Cobble Hill Park exists because of the strength of the community. The small plot of land nestled between Verandah Place and Congress Street was in the past considered to become the site for both a supermarket and an apartment building.
Brooklyn's Cobble Hill neighborhood dates back to the mid-17th century, when Dutch farmers first settled the land. Fast forward a few centuries to the 1960s, when a neighborhood movement saved the trapezoidal area now known as Cobble Hill Park from becoming a six-story apartment building.
Thankfully our parks committee has taken special interest in tree maintenance and coordinated with the forestry division of NYC Parks Department to ensure the health of our neighborhood's green oasis.
