Since Target store nearby stop selling affordable hot food at their Atlantic Ave location, Stop and Shop is the last hope to eat food and not feel hopelessly broke. Everything nearby is so expensive.
And food shopping is even better.
They get great deal from their vendors. So they pass it on to the consumer. You want to think that they care about you because you know many stores will rob you with prices.
One reason to live in NY
(March 25, 2019, 8:02 pm)Fresh food and great sales. EVERYTHING that I purchased today was on sale and necessary. Fresh fruit, meat.... Gum. Stop & Shop automatically uploads coupons when you add items to your cart from the app. It is awesome. A great way to shop and a great place to shop
(March 20, 2019, 12:58 pm)Good selection, weekly sale prices are good. Look out for sale prices fine print, sometimes it’s based on amount spent or circular coupon. Sometimes coupon applies to one item only. Sale items usually run out quickly. Don’t expect them around on the last days or late hours.
(March 14, 2019, 8:08 am)I've visited this stop and shop several times. This trip was to there pharmacy. The only reason they didn't get 5 stars is that while waiting I wanted a ham and they didn't have any of the store brand.
I traveled 30 minutes by train to get a prescription. My pharmacy wanted to charge $79. I got it at stop and shop for $14.46. The exact same medication.
I walked in and it took about 40 minutes. Overall a good experience, I saved about $60 and that includes the cost of the subway.
Unfortunately, they are not closer or I'd go more often.
(December 15, 2018, 4:45 pm)I like this stop n shop. Sale prices are always good. veggie and fruits when you walk in is always stocked and good quality. Usually have good deals on seasonal items. Chicken and meats run out quick. When I've gone later in the day those cases are usually empty.
Lines move as quickly as the people in front of you take. Cashiers are usually friendly and very efficient.
I live near by and walk. There is a parking garage but it shares with mall. Looks horrible getting in and out. Best to walk or take public transportation.
It's directly across from Barclays and Target and other stuff.

Stop & Shop is a very convenient two 1/2 block walk from my home. When it was owned and run by Pathmark, I rarely shopped there. It was still close to home, but the deli area and the meat area always had a really bad smell, a combination of grease and not fresh food.
