I tell you one thing the Ocean parkway Jewish center is a very very cool looking building not sure if it looks like it's old or new but it looks cool regardless of that the Ocean parkway Jewish center also known as mevakshai Hashem is really a wonderful place
I went to Hebrew school here from 1958 to 1963 when I had my Bar Mitzvah. Rabbi Fisher Katznelson was my teacher. There was a large school presence in the neighborhood. I loved going there with my friends from my day schools at P S 217 and then Ditmas Jr High. Back then life revolved around temple events, especially the High Holy Days. I live in Fla. now, but will never forget the education I received, friends I made and being proud always of my Jewish upbringing.
Magnificent old synagogue, congregation was founded in 1907 and the synagogue was built during 1924-1926. Listed in the U.S. National Register of Historic Places. Photos can be seen in the book, "Ten Times Chai: 180 Orthodox Synagogues of New York City."
Always good visit
Best synagogue on the planet. Beautiful place. Wonderful community.
