We had been searching for a Japanese breakfast and this is probably the most authentic we found. I love the array of foods that are prepared, between the grilled fish, the miso soup, egg, picketed vegetables. It was all so delicious (except I could’ve done without the mustard sauce on the greens) and cooked perfectly. The portion size of each part of the dish was also nice and petite which was a good, and not too heavy, start for the day. It was such a treat to have this on a Friday morning breakfast.
I love the Sunday brunch! It’s such a lovely experience! I highly recommend reserving a window seat ~ the brunch comes with two choices one with more meat option basically. We added une, Salmon roe and onsen egg to our meal. I loved how fresh all the food was and it’s just a nice cozy place for a date. Everything on the plate is just so pretty to be honest. Space is limited to you don’t feel overwhelmed with a crowd but definitely book ahead !
I like that they have a small menu so you're not overwhelmed with so many different options. Their end changes day by day so you are always surprised when you another time. Their ramen is very different from what you expect from a typical ramen spot. Their broth base is fish based which is very rich and flavorful. Definitely recommend for small groups as their seating are is small and limited.
So happy to have found this gem. Delicious food, great hospitality. Husband had the salmon belly and I had the mackerel; both cooked perfectly! A small restaurant dishing out delicious Japanese breakfast by day and ramen at night. Will be back to try the ramen, but will definitely be coming back for the Japanese breakfast!
Okonomi's was one of our first meals when we visited Brooklyn for the first part of the day. No indoor seating, but there is a outdoor seating section right in front with raised benches.
We came here for their bentos. Got the Hokkaido box and their breakfast bento. Delicious, fresh, and made to order.
