  Great place for kids to learn martial arts, ways to be focused, respectful & kind. The teachers are patient, knowledgeable & engaging. The kids love it!

  Fantastic place to train. The staff is very accommodating of all skill levels and hold classes that provide both an excellent martial arts training as well as an intense workout. I can not recommend UMA highly enough for beginner, intermediate, or advanced individuals.

  At this school, for half a year, I took a muay thai class from Paul and a JKD class from Hannah three times a week. This is a very special community in Williamsburg, because based on their background, not only are the teachers competent in their martial arts domains, but perhaps more importantly, they are extremely interested and supportive of each student's individual martial arts journey. In addition to the pedagogical excellence, most of the students here consist of regular attendees, and I felt more welcome by this very friendly and supportive community than any group I had been part of during my decade in NYC. If you are like me and had never taken a martial arts class before, but always seemed intrigued by it whenever you saw people sparring with their boxing gloves at McCarren Park, there is no better place than here to take your first steps.

  I first visited Unlimited Martial Arts close to a year ago to train in self defense and to learn a new martial arts system, and UMA has quickly become a second home to me. It's a perfect place for someone who wants to explore the multi-disciplinary training philosophy of the late Bruce Lee. The classes are windows into different world cultures through movement, be it Filipino Martial Arts, Wing Chun, Brazilian Jiu Jitsu, or Muay Thai. I love that I am creating my own practice by taking skills from each of these disciplines that work best for me.
  
  The cofounders, Phil Cruz and Anthony Fontana, are top-notch instructors in technique--they have very high standards for their students, but at the same time they are patient and generous with their time, especially with beginners like me. What sets this school apart is the strong sense of community: Cruz and Fontana have created a positive and supportive environment that carries over into the attitude of their students. No matter who you are or where you come from, you will feel welcomed by others when you walk in. If you're looking for a martial arts school that will push you to train hard while also maintaining a positive learning environment, then UMA is your place.

  LOVE THIS PLACE! I've been training martial arts for the past 3 years and I love the space and vibes Sifu Cruz and Fontana have created at UMA. The place itself it's gorgeous with lots of art work and it's super clean. Schedule is great and all the instructors are very kind and passionate, love Krav Maga, Bjj and Battle Ready! They offer kids class as well and all levels students are welcomed! Definitely proud to be part of UMA.
