Generous parking lot for Jones beach goers. Bit of a trick to get to. Underhand please that leads to a lovely view of flowers then the boardwalk and beach. We went here the second week of September. The beach sand was dirty and you could not walk barefoot because there were broken shells about the place. The wind blew sand all over our blanket and food. The water was a little cold at first but you quickly adjust because it is not that cold. There were others on the beach treasure hunting, relaxing, and walking about. No one in the water besides ourselves at first. The seagulls are out in flocks and come close but run away if you scare them off. There was also no visible lifeguard. Th showers we're a bit tricky to find and so was staff to ask where they were located. This is actually one of the better beaches NY has to offer.
