I just read the previous review, and though I cannot speak for the person prior, I can express my experience with the employees at this village, more-so in a building department capacity. I had recently started working with the building department employees at the village about 6 months ago (because I became part of a new architectural firm whose clients are primarily residents of the north shore). I must say that every time I walk into the village hall, the lady at the first desk always directs me to the right personnel in a very nice manor. But I work more closely with Mara and Chris. Chris is always very prompt in returning my messages, very helpful in directing me on application submissions, amendments, drawings etc... and his turn around is impeccable! Mara is an absolute pleasure! Very helpful with every single one of my questions, always makes jokes with me and is smiling whenever we speak... she tries to always find a resolution with every given situation I present to her, so that way her department and I my firm can get the job done! I don't know if maybe the previous reviewer just caught Mara on an off day (which we all have), but I can tell you from experience and continual experience to this day, that the employees there are wonderful, helpful and always servicing with a smile.
