After years of hitting the same wall of frustration with many doctors and chiropractors all running me and my exhausted body in circles, I read about Fascia. Everything I read seemed to describe my chronic pains and finally I felt some hope that there was a solution that didn't include a life time of medications and continued pains. I saw an ad for Hands on Physical Therapy and how they address pains and immobility with Myo Fascial Release and other Physical therapy techniques. I decided to give it a try. I was desperate. What did I have to lose?!
The therapists at Hands on Physical Therapy are kind and from my first visit I felt reassured that I was in good hands. By my third session I started to believe that the Myo Fascial Release therapy I was receiving was indeed working. If you are hoping for a quick fix I will not lead you astray- it takes time. If you are like me, it took a very long time for your body to break down and tighten up. Do yourself a favor and be patient and dedicate yourself to the process of healing. You deserve it.
After 4 months, everything changed. All of a sudden I had mobility in my neck and chest and back. So much movement, free of sharp pains and fear. I had no idea how much I was missing. It had been such a long time since I felt good that I had forgotten how GOOD, good can be!
I knew it wasn't normal to ration energies and judge activites viabilty based on how much 'down time' I would suffer, but it had become my way of surviving. I was so in touch with all of my pains and their cyclical nature. It was all consuming. My pain defined me. I had become someone I couldn't count on and that pained me the most.
And then I found Hands on Physical Therapy and EVERYTHING changed. And I mean EVERYTHING. For the first time in over a decade I finally felt my pains were seen and understood and that there was HOPE for me. The therapists were/are patient with me. They gave me the tools to be able to help myself. I no longer feel desperate and helpless. Instead, I feel empowered and full of energy and movement. I never imagined I would be able to feel this good.
