Frost Ceramics and Mercantile

I love love love Frost Ceramics and Mercantile. Kimberle and Chris have a beautiful space and they even offer ceramic classes!!! They are so nice and kimberle has a really amazing sense of style. :)

Beautiful shop with the most wonderful handmade pottery… everyday items , bowls, plates, cake stands, berry bowls, which are just beautifully hand crafted. Also carries other lovely handmade items. Excited to see this store in town!

Frost’s beginners’ pottery class was the most fun I’ve ever had while feeling inept. Chris provides a great experience of learning the initial moves with clay and a pottery wheel. He stays nearby, but not too nearby, to assist when my hands just didn’t behave. He is patient and good natured while gently making somewhat misshapened bowls and cups into keepsakes. And yet the cup and bowl remain distinctively mine! A few weeks after leaving the pottery to dry, we’ve invited back to learn how glazing works and to pick our own glazes. A week later we took home items that we love. A great experience and the price for the class is amazingly affordable!

The class can be a fun date, a break from a humdrum week, an entry point to a new hobby, an opportunity to create a gift to be cherished. My 27-year old son and his girlfriend took the class and he presented us with his work. So wonderful to receive his handmade pottery.

Great ceramic shop in the heart of the adorable town of Sea Cliff. Chris (the potter) makes all his products in house and also has great work by other locals ceramacists and artisans. Highly recommend stopping in during your holiday shopping! Or just to treat yourself for things in your home!
