Their prices are low to begin with, so even with 1-2k in fees, the price you pay isn’t that bad. As long as you do some homework, you’ll be fine here.”

“I've been recording at Mantra every week for the past 2 years. Chris Carroll, the owner and engineer, is also one of NYC's most well-regarded jazz drummers. It is the only studio I know of where I can get the insights and talents of a master drummer (for free) when I use the studio. The drummer part of his brain kicks in automatically whenever we edit, which is invaluable. Incidentally, Chris happens to be one of the best editors I've ever seen, period.
