Amazing Srilankan food in NYC. A must try. Especially their iddi aappa. The food will take you take to childhood memories. Thanks for such an amazing food . One thing to consider for non spicy eater, just make sure you mention that while ordering food . Thanks
I have been coming to Sigiri for over a decade and as a vegetarian foodie I have never been disappointed!
Food is cooked with spices unique to Sri Lanka and it’s the perfect amount of spice that tastes incredible.
Tips:
- Cash only or Venmo
- BYOB
- Casual, friendly place
- Prepare to wait for your food to be cooked and served at their own pace
Try:
- vegetable soup (aromatic)
- vegetable spring rolls
- Kotthu Roti (best dish)
- Rice and curry comes with papadum (like an Indian thali)
- Aappa with sambol
Small place; cash only. Expect somewhat slow service. Food was good. They didn’t have the eggplant curry we were looking for but the deviled prawn curry and the coconut bread didn’t disappoint. Ask for their coconut spice side.
First time at Sigiri and enjoyed every bit of food. They were fresh, nicely seasoned and tickled my tongue with its authentic taste. We kept eating, and bought more to take home. I would recommend Sigiri Sri Lanka resturant to anyone. Best in everyway. Only downside is they don't sell alcohol and you have to pay in cash. But it's worth it. You can bring your own liquor.
