  This is a new successful discovery nearby by home. I tried twice the take away lunch special and Sushi, Sashimi and Chirashi were all on point. Careful preparation and extremely high quality fish and cut. Lunch has an unbeatable value-for-money

  Since I moved to Chelsea, Momoya has been on a major wait--they don't take reservations, and they stop takeout at 7pm, so it took some effort to get in, but I loved my meal there! The sushi was rich and melted in my mouth. The fish tasted fresh and the rice was on point. The prices are extremely fair and competitive for NYC. Momoya is on the trendier side with lounge-type of music and modern decor, but it's fine to dress casually. 10/10 would go back!
  
  Edit July 2018: I have now been to Momoya three times. I order something different every time and have loved every single dish. I’ve also come with different people, and each time, my guests are wowed!

  Fabulous chirashu selections by the chef. I added unagi (eel). Omakase recommended. Good quick service at lunchtime.

  Lively Japanese restaurant with a good selection of sushi and sashimi dishes. The service was a little spotty and inconsistent, possibly due to the lunch hour rush. Customers who arrived later and sat next to us received their food quicker. Nonetheless, food was delicious and would recommend another visit.
