Beautiful park at the northern end of Roosevelt Island. Worth a night trip, as colors, sound and light very different than during the day. I would say very romantic for those such minded…;). ✌🏽💗🙏🏽
Nice little area with incredible views on Manhatten and Long Island.
Lovely park on the Northern tip of Roosevelt Island.
Best way to get there is public transportation as parking on the island can be rough. The "Motorgate" Parking Garage is the closest public garage and it is about 0.8 mile walk from there to the Park. Rates are about $8 per hour, $10 for 2 hours. You also can walk/bike over from Queens using the Roosevelt Island Bridge-36th Avenue. You can also take the F Train or Tram to Roosevelt Island from Manhattan and then take the free Red Bus which runs up and down the Island.
The park is a beautiful open space with the lighthouse on the end.The park also has the "Girl Puzzle" exhibit some open grassed space.
The space is very well maintained. It offers some lovely views of Queens and the Manhattan skyline.
This park is at the top of Roosevelt Island, I took the red bus to the northernmost stop, the octagon. Them walked around. The lighthouse was under construction but I pretty much had the park to myself for a few minutes
Such a pretty little destination to go have a picnic or relax. We rode some citibikes along the path and was so content to be there that day.
