The Drawing Marathon is fantastic.
It catapults you into another realm.
Many fine artists in my group, and it was inspiring to see
all the different approaches.
Someone gave it one star because it doesn't follow button-down, academic traditions. (Thank God!)
If you want same-old, same-old go to Art Students League.
If you want to grow as an artist, this is your place.
I was able to get a great scholarship so that is was affordable and I will continue to go back for lectures as my career progresses. Financial aid is available and the school is willing to work with you if you are struggling with it. I haven't had any issues with my accreditation and I have received several residencies and work positions without any issues.
I would highly suggest doing the drawing marathons. I have done over twelve throughout my career and they have helped me immensely with any artist block. They are a great way to get outside of your comfort zone. Regardless of what you do the studio school has people who will help you find your voice. They certainly helped me.
