Lovely walk. River was a bit stinky
Old haunted cemetery. Lots of old monuments.
Unique cemetery is at the point where the states of NJ, PA and NY come together with a monument where you can stand at all for states at once. But besides that, this Victorian cemetery is full of interesting headstones.
This beautiful cemetery, which dates from the mid 19th century occupies a peninsula of land at the confluence of the Neversink and Delaware Rivers and is part of the Delaware Heritage Trail. Here you can stroll along the narrow carriage ways and admire the many ornate grave markers that the well to do citizens of Port Jervis and surroundings erected to themselves and their loved ones as a final memorial.
The entrance is all but unmarked (1st left turn off US 6 West after crossing the small steel truss bridge on the Neversink R). and leads to a one lane paved road that leads along the Neversink R. shoreline past the Tri-state monument and then back along the Delaware R. to a public road (T401).
