I mediate in Putnam County, and have found Legal Aid to be responsive, understanding, and competent. It is an important distinction to draw between not getting the result you want and the incompetence of counsel. Theirs is a very, very difficult job, they are always up against opposing counsel with more resources, more time, and most often a more cooperative client. There is a responsibility that you have as a client, and I have seen it more often than not whereby the outcome of any litigation is as effected by client performance as anything else.
