  This group is awesome! I started with them in the spring to get myself back in the water and ended up doing private lessons into the summer, because of how knowledgeable they are. This school is not only great for new comers to surfing, but to help improve upon the skills you may already have. Even the slightest tweaks I was given has made surfing that much more fun for me! Thanks to the Locals crew!

  Locals Surf School is the real deal! Mike and Mike have been awesome and it's been very rewarding to go surfing on weekends this summer. It is a great activity to do, you get to workout, meet cool people, get some sun, and have fun at the same time.
  
  The instruction level at Locals is unparalleled. Every instructor knows what they're doing, they're very insightful, patient, and will work with you to take your skills to the next level.

  Locals will get you addicted to surfing and it all starts with a single lesson. For those who have never tried surfing, its a lot harder than it looks. Buy a package, you wont regret it!... trust me! But with great instructors, you'll be surfing in no-time.
  
  Mike and Mike are great as are all of the instructors. They are welcoming, accommodating and always make surfing fun. I drive 1.5 hours form NJ to Rockaway for lessons at Locals. Worth the trip every time. If your considering heading to the Jersey Shore for lessons, don't... Locals is local, close to the city and a lot more fun then the NJ crowd. You wont be disappointed.

  These guys are the best. The absolute BEST! My friends and I have been taking lessons all summer and we've had bunch of different Locals instructors and every single one of them are so knowledgeable, encouraging, and friendly. Mike and Mike make it so easy to get in touch, to schedule classes and they really went out of their way to be accommodating. I can't say enough good things about Locals!

  Locals Surf School is the best place to learn how to surf in New York! The founders and instructors will make it a fun and safe experience for everyone including beginners. The lesson prices are a great deal, especially the 2-hour group lesson. If you enjoy your first lesson and want to get better, I recommend getting a lesson package. Thanks Locals!
