(January 27, 2019, 3:08 am)Although I live in Manhattan, I try to frequent this masjid as much as possible. As a pillar of the local Turkish/Muslim community, it sustains cultural significance.
During Ramadan they offer Tajweed classes along with basic Arabic lessons from what I remember.
The food tho...on point! (nice and Turkishy during Ramadan) and they serve cookies and tea during the bi-anual Eid celebrations (can't really beat that ).
I do wish they didn't always bring religious leaders from abroad and resolve to ones that are more in touch with American culture but that is a personal grievance ( I feel as though this hinders dawa efforts towards potential reverts) . I don't think their resources allow for 5 daily prayers (yet) in congregation but oh well...Alhamdulilah it's better than nothing.
Overall a great place!!
