“I like this bus station. It’s next to the blue cafe and the blue laundromat. I was gone for a while. I still am very detached from “being attached” (?) Sometimes taking a bus trip takes me back to my “place”. Sometimes taking a long bath. Nothing worked this time. I think I’ve got to run... —March 5, 2019 Woke up before 7. The birds were so loud this morning. Had planned to take the bus to Queens College running track. My eyes were closed but I could hear how strong the wind was. A car caught my attention when I heard Farsi words in the music. It made me look at the buildings and the sidewalk in a way I’d never had. We barely look higher than our default eyesight. I tried to look up. And I saw something I’d never seen before. The red brick building’s second floor in which I had passed by a thousand times before. “I spent a lot of time at this laundromat..over 100 hours. Sitting here reading different books on my iPad. I cannot focus on one book for long. So I keep switching themes in my reading time. The major theme is mostly about cyberspace and tech companies. It always involves lots of numbers and statistics. So I turn to Harari’s stories of the past and the future. Then a few lines of otherworldly immaterial materials. Miriam is sitting in the cafe next to Luca Laundromat. We talked about pinsapo motel and the next location with Oyku. She loved the birds. Papi was so excited and flying back and forth between us and the cage. I spend around 2 hours at this room every time I wash my clothes. That’s a very intimate time frame for a space. —April 9, 2019 Its Saturday. I was picking up all the clothes around the attic to head the laundromat. As I was stuffing the blue ikea bag with a mountain of clothes, I remembered a ten dollar bill was in the orange shorts pocket. I took the shorts off the bag. The money was there.
