Wonderful facility with very caring staff. Great location in the heart of Monsey.

I just wanted to say that it has been very rough on me having my mom in a SNF and spent many nights not sleeping and worrying-you never want to be put in this position where you feel unable to safely care for your loved one due to their health conditions, but I have to tell you that the staff at Northern Met-have been amazing! The staff here not only take care of my mom and make sure she is safe and well cared for, but also take care of her extended family by attending to my concerns and comforting me as well. Staff knows that I live out of state and difficult to be there daily due to work--but they have gone way beyond and made it possible for me to video chat with my mom daily, which lets me know she is ok and lets her know that her family is there for her when needed.
The nursing supervisors, nurses and CNAs are amazing. Every time I call or have a question or concern, they get back to me with an answer and when I call, they get mom to the phone so I can speak to her. They have knowledge of her diagnosis and her care and treatment. I love the nursing supervisors, the nurses, the CNAS. They are compassionate and caring. Love them! Recreation staff have been amazing-Imelda-director of recreation has had many challenges with Covid restrictions and somehow has managed through caring and compassion to make the best of things, while awaiting for programs to open again. I was able to video chat and make glass window visits during Covid quarantines. Now that the programs are back-I see my mom getting her nails painted, painting ceramics, coloring, dancing in her wheelchair--and boy can she dance! Little things that we often take for granted, that are so important. The residents need to have a sense of normalcy and to hold on to their dignity and their self-worth. Tatiana makes video calls to my mom, as well as the rest of the staff-even when she is running around and running programs, because she knows that just 5 minutes that my mom can see me-lets her know that family is there for her. The Social Work staff--Kristen and Erin - just amazing--keeping me informed of my mom's status and everything that is going on regarding her stay there, including tx, insurance, setting up team conferences. They have guided me and provided tissues for me many times when I cried regarding my mom and her current situation. Aaron--spent many many months working on insurance issues - trying to get coverage for my mom's stay at Northern Met-his patience and support have been awesome and his persistence paid off. Joice--wow! I email Joice or call her at least once or more weekly checking on mom and touching base-she never tells me she does not have time-is always available for me and very kind and caring.
All the nurses and CNAs on the unit-have been truly amazing and through all the changes and craziness with Covid, the quarantining and room changes, etc-they all seemed to be calm, caring, well organized, knowledgeable and accommodating. PT department: Linda, Marco, Hazel, etc--all have been fabulous--spending time - reporting to me on her progress there and providing training when indicated. Nutrition department updates me on her weight and nutritional status at the team meetings. The reception-front desk--staff are very friendly and helpful as well, dealing with phone calls and Covid testing as well.
Stanley -- always responds to my emails and concerns - whenever I need something. If I forgot to mention any departments or staff--it is because there are so many staff members involved in my mom's care. The staff at Northern Metropolitan--Monsey are caring, compassionate, go way beyond their scope of duties to make my mom's stay there as comfortable, and safe as possible. I would definitely recommend this skilled nursing facility. Staff works hard at making the transition to SNF as easy as possible and are definitely there to help you through this hard time. I love the staff at Northern--they have become like family to me. Love ya! Jackie Kuti

My father spent there 6 months and I can only say good things about the staff, rooms and overall care. He never said anything bad, he was always clean, changed, and the last few weeks he did not move but had no sores or any infections. There are many good people working there: I'll only mention few: Tatiana, Imelda, Mayra, Michelle - were always there with any help needed. I am very thankful for all they did for us.
