As a documentarian, traveling to historic areas is my main reason for travel and Stony Point was a very pleasant trip with so much to take in a appreciate. Stony Point was occupied by names such as John Andre as well as Mad Anthony Wayne... Great history and area!

(September 7, 2018, 1:48 pm)Very interesting historic site of the Revolutionary war. "Mad Anthony" Wayne's surprise attack victory over the British. Beautiful views of the Hudson River. There is also an historic lighthouse.

(July 26, 2018, 7:15 am)It was great talking with the great people and historians that came out there on an extremely hot day July 14 2018. I listened and learned so much - it's so interesting. The guns fired were loud and kids enjoyed that. Nice views of the river.????????

(June 27, 2018, 6:19 pm)Not a well known place, but a great secret in Rockland. Just off main st. in stony pt, you drive a mile or so down a residential street which ends with driving over a little single lane wooden bridge and you will see a large stone entrance that's the entrance to the park. Drive through and to the right is a big parking lot. From here you will now have to walk up a big hill, maybe 1/6th of mile. Once up you will find a beautiful park with vista views of the hudson river, a nice little museum, a reenactment camp ( hopefully they will make colonial food for u to try) & lots of places to picnic.
