Mike is a quality guy who knows more than you could hope for about your snake or lizard. He’s been super helpful for me as a new ball python owner.

Make sure to call ahead before popping by though. He’s currently running the store on his own and is feeding snakes all day. It helps him to be able to plan ahead.

We highly recommend The Zoo & Mike, to anyone who loves this hobby as much as us! Mike was so kind and knowledgeable, to both my boyfriend and I, as well as my family who joined us! We couldn’t have had a better experience at The Zoo! Not only did we purchase our beautiful BCC, Freya; but we also purchased new hides, some decor and feeders for Freya as well as our other snakes at home. We got an AMAZING deal from Mike for everything we purchased & we gained a lot of free knowledge from him as well! He shared so much information and helpful tips with us and we can’t wait to return in the near future! 😊

Mike's animals are of very good quality, but most importantly, they are very healthy and given quality care. I purchased two crested geckos, both of whom were of healthy weight and appearance for their age, and he made sure I had all the appropriate materials and information before I left. They have adjusted tremendously well, eat healthily, and all animals in the storefront have an appropriate amount of space for their size. If you are anywhere in the capital district, Mike's your reptile guy.

Mike was an absolute pleasure to meet. His snakes are truly his passion. I've never stepped into a pet shop that was so pristine, and I own a pet shop myself! He definitely gives the rest of us something to strive for. I went home with one of his stunning sunset boas, a boa that is often imitated but rarely produced or produced this nicely. If you are looking for a good quality reptile, THIS is the place to go. Don't waste your money at big box stores!

Oh... My... Goodness... I can't even begin to describe how great this place was. Mike is the most amazing wealth of snake knowledge you could possibly find. I was looking around the capital district for a snake that I wanted and I finally stopped in The Zoo to ask Mike. He was so informative about everything pertaining to snakes. I read online that he didn't have the best customer service but I couldn't have had a more different experience! He was so pleasant to talk to. We ended up just talking for a while about reptiles. He has been breeding snakes since 1993 so he has amazing stories and experience!! The snake he sold to me was bred and raised by himself. The Ball Python couldn't be a better pet! So social and calm. Mike even breeds his own feeder animals! I'll be going to him for all my reptiles needs now. I found my spot! I suggest you give him a try also.
