  A very great place for families or someone interested in aviation. One very notable part of the experience was the in depth view of long island's part in world war 2. Also located with in the museum is a wonderful flight simulator for those who would love to try their hand at attempting to flying a plane. All in all a great place and knowledgable staff very friendly and willing to explain anything and everything.

  A museum at the working Republic airport dedicated to just some of the aircraft that we used to proudly build on Long Island. A must see for plane and air force enthusiasts. Lots of exibits for kids and grown ups to touch and explore.

  Incredible museum.
  Never knew they have five functional WW2 aircraft ! P40..P51 and P47 fighters.
  B25 is my favorite plus a DC3!.
  This place is a must-see for aviation enthusiasts! Very interesting collection of jet aircraft mostly from the Vietnam area going forward.
  Put this museum on your list ...you will not be disappointed.

  If you are into flying and aircraft this is definitely a place to visit. A good portion of their planes actually fly. They have classic WW II aircraft such as the P51D Mustang, C47 and B25 Michell Bomber. There are also jet aircraft with my favorite the A10 Warthog. My latest trip was to see one of the last flying B29 bombers flying, Fifi which was up from Texas on tour. I've also toured the Memphis Belle when it visited the American Airpower Museum. Besides aircraft they also have nice, informative displays and they highlight the importance of women in the war effort. The museum also has recreated some aspects of an air base that would have been found in England during WW2. This is one of my favorite places to visit on Long Island. It feels real and homey. This museum is the place for those who are into flying.
