West Meadow Wetlands Reserve

Grab a tube and ride the lazy river through the wetlands preserve to the east or pull up a chair and enjoy the harbor to the west. Visit during low tide to enjoy the expanse of sand bars. Great small North Shore beach.

I love this place, any time, any season. But it was a very bad night for Mr. Raccoon. Poor guy.

Beautiful beach especially at low tide and when the sun sets out over the water. There is a one-mile long paved road (blocked off from traffic) where you can walk, jog, or bike ride (no dogs) with a 1/2 mile marker. Osprey nests (currently occupied!), marsh birds, sea gulls, and other small birds love it there as well. Conservation efforts in this area are noticeable and there is some educational signage making this a lovely place for a variety of reasons.

This place is absolutely stunning. It's a great place to just walk around. Whether it's cloudy and damp or sunny and warm, the place is just beautiful.
