Combination of south and east loop is a 4.3 mile hike. Trail is a nice up and down hike through a lush mix of trees. Lots of ferns and moss, small creeks and big rocks so hiking boots are recommended. If you take your dog off leash be aware of occasional coyotes.
Well maintained and marked trails. Printed educational rectangular plaques and circular hand written humorous identifiers are posted throughout the trail. Hikes can be challenging because of mud, tree roots or uneven rocky sections. No amazing vistas to see - just nice uncrowded trails.
Hidden Gem in Westchester. Well marked trails but still can be disorienting the first time. Such an amazing variety of Trees, plants and Rocks you just cant find elsewhere. Some breathtaking views and well shaded. Old growth woods. Thanks to Zofnass family , WLT and others for making this possible. Parking is extremely limted but there are 3-4 different parking areas and entrances to choose from so if one is packed, try another.
Fun hike. Like the educational plaques. Very shady. Well maintained. The trails are tight and wind through the park. It can get disorienting. But there are maps posted periodically at major intersections.
Interesting, tightly packed trails. I've walked it in all four seasons and continue to enjoy. I like the little educational plaques.
