“I was so pleasantly surprised. I had been to another facility and was kept waiting for 1 hour and then by the time I was tested and dilated, I was in the competitors office for 2 and half hours. Dr. Rhee's office, the complete opposite. I signed in and was taken into a treatment room within 10 minutes. Preliminary tests were done, eyes dilated. Back into the waiting room for another 5-10 minutes. I was then led into a treatment room to meet with Dr. Rhee. Such a calm, patient doctor. He asked what brought me into the office, explained his findings and told me everything was good to go. I especially liked the fact that he said if I had any problems, to call his office anytime of the day because there was staff always on call. So pleased, will recommend him to anybody that needs retina work done.”

“Well, all I can say about Dr. Killian is that he helped me after a terrible accident. Is was way back in 1989 when I was walking barefoot on the boardwalk at Jones Beach. I had a large splinter the size of a popcycle stick go through the bottom of my left foot under the toes and come out the left top side impaling my foot. I went to NCMC Emergency from the beach. The doctor basically just wanted to yank it out. I was screaming in intense pain. My mother contacted our family doctor. He told us to get out of there immediately and head to Mercy Hospital. So I was driven to the other hospital with the wood still through my foot on the dashboard When I arrived Dr. Killian was already there because my doctor called him. I was rushed into the emergency room where I was treated like I was the President. I was treated immediately and prepped for surgery. I had food and a glass of wine at the beach so they could not put me under anesthesia. They gave me a spinal block near the bottom of my spine. I was freaking out about having a huge needle in my back, but they gave me intravenous Valium before the block. At that point you could have done anything to me. Dr. Killian operated on my foot. I was in the hospital two days. I fully recovered. I cannot thank Dr. Killian enough for helping me get through such a terrible injury. The difference between NCMC and Mercy Hospital was like night and day. Dr. Killian was such a blessing during this most difficult time. Now over 30 years later my foot never had a problem or issue. He may have changed over the years but he was my hero at that horrible moment.”
