“My sister lost her son on October 17, 2022. As this was a sudden passing; it was certainly a devastating loss for she and our entire family. I assumed the responsibility of preparing funeral arrangements for my nephew, sight unseen, because I reside in North Carolina. Our family did not know what to expect from the services of Mickey’s Sunset but Mr. Rodney Gibbs came highly recommended. All communication between Mr. Gibbs and I were via-phone/text and emails. Mr. Gibbs was professional, polite, pleasant and extremely patient. He is the consummate mortician! On the day of the private family viewing, we were met with a very fine representation of our loved one. As a family, we walked away from the funeral services delivered by Mickey’s Sunset Funeral home; feeling heartbroken but extremely satisfied! My nephew looked absolutely AMAZING!!! He looked just as handsome, as he did in life, while lying in his final resting bed. “My mom and dad had prepaid cremation plans down in North Carolina. My dad died in the 90s and mom moved back up here and transferred her plan to Meyers Funeral Home in 2002. My mom died at 98 two weeks ago and ALL I had to do was make ONE phone call to Stephen Meyers and he took care of EVERYTHING. He picked up her body at the hospital about 3 hours (!) after I called him and she was sent to cremation immediately. He called when her ashes and death certs. were available and I was able to pick them up at my convenience. I will be pre-paying my own cremation with him once the dust settles with my mom, and hopefully my husband will want to do the same. I cannot recommend this place highly enough.”
