I am currently working a linear progression strength program and thought I would miss workouts while staying with family in the Chautauqua area. Fortunately I found Southern Tier Barbell, well worth the short drive to Jamestown, this gym has top of the line Rogue equipment and a even a dedicated deadlift area. Multiple bars/racks are available for whatever lift you are working on. Erick was friendly and accommodating. They allow the use of chalk! We need more gyms like this! I'll be back the next time I am in the area for sure.”

I used to have a pretty average body, but in the past 6+ months together I'm starting to develop actual muscle definition, I've gained so much more stamina, my mood and energy levels have dramatically improved, and my confidence has skyrocketed. Jacob has a very personalized approach and designs your workouts around your specific fitness goals. I dream of having that Captain America punch that could knock out Hitler, so he put together a boxing workout that started with basic form and now has me pulling off sick 6 punch combos. Jacob pays attention to how you're doing on a moment by moment basis, and is fantastic about pushing you just as hard as you can safely go but pulling back when you're hitting your max. I used to think I'd hate having some personal trainer barking orders at me, but Jacob is so friendly and supportive to work with that I find our sessions to be very collaborative. I definitely know I don't get these kind of workouts on my own. Lastly, as a comic nerd, I also love the decor in his gym. The superhero theme really lends itself well to our efforts, and I love that Jacob is always happy to gab about obscure XMen issues.
