“We had such a great experience working with Kitchen Creations of WNY and are so happy with our new kitchen! Steve was so helpful in designing the kitchen, taking into account all our needs and wants. He was very responsive during the process and even made adjustments on the spot when we met. Everything was delivered timely and looks beautiful. We highly recommend Kitchen Creations!”

“I have to laugh -- a “reviewer” named Eva Melin-Gompper below billed herself as “an antique expert” – which means she’s 100 years old; but what she meant to say is that she’s an “antiques” expert. However, if she was, she would realize Olde Good Things are not overpriced at all, as she claims. As a matter of fact, as salvagers you can say some of their pieces are flawed, but their prices are very reasonable. Check 1st Dibs and Charish, or any of the auction houses, to know what “overpriced” really means. Here you get what you get, and since you never know what that might be, the stores are fantastic for the thrill of the hunt, which is what antiquing is all about. Olde Good Things salvages materials from buildings being demolished or refurbished, including hotels, office buildings, etc., as well as creates new items out of reclaimed metals, woods, and other materials. This is a place where many truly unique finds are to be had. They have a spectacular array of lighting and fixtures, if only I had high ceilings. They also carry endless amounts of hardware, including doorknobs, and I bought vintage art deco glass ones here years ago. I bought five pieces of furniture from the two stores in Manhattan to reorganize my apartment during the past two years, and I am thrilled with all of them. They have imperfections and they weren’t cheap, but this isn’t a thrift store; it’s an antiques and salvage dealer. The stores on West 52 Street and upper Broadway are two of my favorite places to hunt, and even though I now have no more room for anything, I’ll still be looking!”

“Expecting our first child (and therefore, an inundation of houseguests), my wife and I needed to add a second bathroom to our home. From the moment Guillermo looked at our space, it was clear he had a vision. He not only saw immediately how it would function and be laid out; it became clear from our subsequent conversations that he had a great eye and a passion for design. He provided a detailed, itemized estimate of the project and worked closely with us to make sure everything stayed in budget while aligning with our vision for the space. Guillermo and his crew do fantastic work--detail-oriented, meticulous. He even added a few great extra touches we didn't ask for (a recessed shower shelf, a stylish linear drain, and opposite-side shower controls). The tiling work, in particular, is perfect. And I mean perfect. Not only did the job stay in budget and everything looks flawless and works perfectly, but Guillermo is a great guy--professional, easygoing, great to talk to and work with. We are putting a pause on home renovations for now, but we have more projects in mind and will definitely be contacting him again.”

“John J Contracting, as a company, is thoughtful, thorough, professional, kind, personable and their staff is truly skilled. Throughout our project (a major patio covering and fireplace) they were helpful and consultative every step of the way. As new homeowners, and undergoing our first major renovation project, they were immensely helpful by; explaining what our plans actually meant, helping us determine whether they were (or were NOT) what we wanted, navigating the permit and inspection process, coordinating with our architect (making recommendations) and most importantly helping us problem-solve the unexpected hiccups that always come up. We had a unique project where we didn’t do things in the correct order, but the John J team (Paul Coppolino specifically) helped us work through all of the issues and ultimately made everything look great functionally and esthetically. They were also very straightforward and fair about pricing, overages and timeline. All of our friends who come to the house now give us the best compliments on the new addition and we are very pleased with it. We were so impressed by their work that we are looking to work with them again on another larger project in the near future.”

“This is one of my favorite places to buy jewelry of all time. I have been shopping there for many years. It has most price ranges. It has lovely furniture and carpets. The owner is very friendly and helpful. Last month I took off my mask for a moment so he could recognize me and it was almost like old friends greeting each other.”

“Great local independent paint store, knowledgable, capable, courteous. I had gone to their Western Ave location a few years ago to get deck stain and guidance, wound up choosing the Flood oil based 447. That work lasted 4 years (vs. the avg of 1 or 2 years for transparent wood sealant) so I went back for advice on refinishing / staining again this late in the season. Side note, there was another customer there at the time whom I let go ahead of me, since my order was complicated. Turns out she was there to drop off a bunch of half empty paint cans for environmental disposal which she had bought at Sherwin Williams. It was near closing time, and when the counter person said she needed to log all these returns, and wanted to finish helping me with my purchase first, the customer got indignant and said "You're legally required to take these back." I wonder if this is the reviewer who left an empty 1 star review just recently, and has only ever posted just that 1 review)”
