“One of New York's magical places tucked out of the way but worth the effort. The building is evocative of another era and Pedro de Mena's "Saint Acisclus" sculpture is haunting. Unlike most other museums in NYC - it has never been crowded during my visits.”

“A bit difficult to find but quick service!”

“Staff is ALWAYS helpful with any concern. Been in area for long time and always use this library and just want to say Thank You!! Kids will be kids when they come after school, but what would you expect?? Just let them know if they are noisy (Duh!). And the building is beautiful....”

“This library is free to enter and all you need to do is to get your bag checked. The headphones are 1 dollar each for he computers. You have to have a New York public library card to use the computers. But the computers are free to use. Tu necessites reservar to use the computer. The staff is very nice and the library is very quiet and helpful. The library cafe is called Amy’s bread cafes it’s a small kiosk which has pastries coffee lunches like soup and sandwiches and chips. My favorite chip is the zesty jalapeño chips and a mini snickerdoodle cookie! ???? the floors are clean and it smells good. There is big balcony at the cafe area. Lincoln public library is close to the Columbus circle subway.”

“Gorgeous building. Huge selection of dvds for rentals. Books are scarce with emphasis perhaps on children's section and African American interest. There is a fiction section near the computers. Every time I have visited during the day, it's fairly empty. Good, quiet place to access free internet. One complaint I have is there is only one bathroom and the key is often unavailable. There is an upstairs section for quieter study which I have never visited.”

“Friendly courteous librarians. Librarians are knowledgeable and willing to help you find the book you want. The best part is the free museum tickets including the Museum of Natural History in the city.”

“The next time anna bella comes into the central islip library, call the police. She is unstable and defiant. She refuses to obey library rules and parks in a fire zone ...refusing to move her car. (her lic plate was reported to scpd).”

“Amazing place. Just discovered it by chance when our route back to NYC was blocked off. The wonderful custodian kindly let us inside to use the rest rooms, gave a wonderful tour and provided directions on how to reach Rt.22. What more could you ask for!”

“Islip Library has more informative books. They have fun activities for kids on weekdays and weekends too. They care for their patrons. My kids love going to the Library and spend hours there just reading books. They have Adult programs too. The environment of the place is very relaxing and the staff there are very helpful. They have game time activity for Teens on Fridays.”

Address: 11 Depot St, Middletown, NY 10940, USA
“I have been going to this library for almost my entire life. The majority of the staff are kind, friendly, helpful people. They have a large, wide-ranging selection of books (as any good library should!) and the place is quiet and peaceful. Housed in a historical train station, it has beautiful wooden architecture in a style and condition extremely hard to find in this part of New York (with places like the O&W station falling into ruin in other parts of the city). Would recommend to any local.”

“Wonderful library. I love the new renovation. Using the computers here is very easy.”
Address: 1 S Country Rd, Brightwaters, NY 11718, USA
“The library provides favorable services with an experienced and conscious staff as of notary and sponsored events. The building has nice features, the window view on the top floor is attractive. You are unlikely to locate study spots in every corner. One factor might be the uneven noise levels.”

“The Newburgh Free Library family is very helpful and concerned about the local community. Heather and Mary Lou are awesome! This location is very convenient as I live very close to the Newburgh mall. Though I do not frequent all of the stores and shops, I make effort to stop by the library for enrichment of the intellect and camaraderie for the soul. It is great to meet others genuinely concerned about helping others. There are plans underway for making this already inviting place even more inviting. Stay tuned!”
