“We've driven by The Savory for over a year now since we moved up here. I decided tonight was the night we should give it a try. I'm sure glad we did! We were greeted at the door and quickly seated. There are two sides to the restaurant, bar side and formal seating. That was nice since we had a young child. There are about 6 tables filled on that side with room for more. The specialty drinks looked amazing, but my husband and I were so tired we opted out (we'll return). We ordered the night special of filet of sole, a Cuban sandwich, and the children's Mac and Cheese. All was delicious and generous in portion size. We took home half of two meals... Say yum to leftovers! Service was quick, friendly and well timed to our finishing our dinner salad. For my daughter stealing fries from her Dad's sandwich became a must. They really are delicious. She tried my sole and then proceeded to ask me why I didn't make it as good as The Savory! All in all, it was a good stop and we'll be returning soon!”

“Awesome place; friendly atmosphere...it’s a hidden gem and a place that is from a genuine by gone era when pubs were down to earth and not snooty. If you’re looking for some fine grub, good conversation, friendly staff, and beer- like the real stuff, not some IPA micro brew- sorry if that’s your thing, it’s all good, but I just like a nice cold Miller High Life...and oh, it’s pretty cool to be on a canal surrounded by actual working marinas- so few of these locations are left as they are sold off to high end development and fancy restaurants. Don’t let this lull you into thinking the food isn’t quality- it is! They often have fantastic life music. Summer might be their prime season but I’m just as happy being there in the off season. “So I've seen some terrible reviews and I just don't get it. They are super polite (including the children) and the place is clean. They offer a whole menu on sushi too! I don't order the same thing since I really love Americanized Asian food but I really dig their sushi options. I started to order the sushi burritos and I'm so happy with it. Try it all! Chicken wings, spring rolls (loooove), combination platters.. I'm saying though... I really love sun hing. Go for it. You won't be disappointed. Also, if the language barrier bothers you then you're at the wrong place. Order, smile, say thank you, pay and say bye. That's it. That is professional from them and appreciation from you. Also remember this is chinese/japanese. You don't find Asian restaurants like this one much.”
