I cannot say enough amazing things about CM Spa and Meghan. They use a brand new top notch laser machine and you almost always don’t need the suggested number of sessions because the results are that good. Meghan is an absolute doll- very professional and knowledgeable and very personable. Spa is clean and beautiful. Staff is very friendly. “I had a fantastic experience at this spa. I was looking for a place to take my friend to for her birthday and this came up in the search. The prices are an outrageous bargain! If you want a spa experience but you can't pay regular spa prices, or you just want more treatment for your dollar, this is the place to go! You do have to remember that this is a school, so the decor is not as luxurious as a regular spa. The room we were in was also on the chilly side. But the actual treatment went fantastic (we both had body wraps and facials) especially the wrap. Everyone I interacted with was friendly, professional, and enthusiastic about their job. And these are students, I think the only money they make is from tips. Even giving a very generous tip, this place is well worth every penny.”

“I came here for a prenatal massage. The Spa was clean and the atmosphere was welcoming and relaxing. I was given a paper to fill out with some medical history and personal info. I'm 33 weeks pregnant so I appreciated the precaution. However, when staff came to get me for my service, the paperwork was not reviewed and was actually left on the side table I was sitting at. I had to give it to the receptionist after my service. The room was clean and comfortable. My assigned Masseuse did ask if I was having any issues during my pregnancy but again, she did not review my paperwork. She was informative, friendly, and I appreciated that she didn't ask me the million questions one gets asked during pregnancy. I was allowed to relax in silence, enjoy the massage, and even dozed off a few times! I enjoyed this experience and would highly recommend this spa. I would love to give 5 stars but the lack of attention to my medical paperwork they required me to fill out, especially being so pregnant, is a concern and should be addressed within the staff.”

“This was my first visit to Rise Above Floatation. I had been in a flotation tank one other time, years ago, at the Omega Institute and I loved it and couldn't wait to try Rise Above. It exceeded my expectations in every way possible. First and foremost, the staff was extremely friendly and welcoming, and presented instructions on the process were very clearly. The facility was spotless and so ZEN! I chose to float in the pod. It was immaculately clean and everything. I hope it would be. I followed my visit float with a massage that was equally as wonderful. I highly recommend you give it a try them a try! “Update: Having been a member now for a month, I am happy to say I am still pleased with my choice in joining this location. The front staff are always friendly. I never have issues waiting for the treadmill, cycling, or rowing machines. The weight machines can get busy sometimes but I don’t think I’ve ever had to wait longer than 5 minutes. Lockers are well kept. Massage chairs are great. Sauna is hot and clean. The only minor complaint I have is that they recently removed the towel locker at the front entrance. You are now limited to 2 towels per visit, which is pretty inconvenient. I get saving on costs, but the abundant towel service is a part of what makes the experience here feel more upscale. Taking that away makes coming here more of a utilitarian experience and less luxurious. I say bring back the towels! Or better yet, upgrade them. One other suggestion: upgrade the shampoo, conditioner, and body soaps. Literally, if you all did that, I would never bat an eye at Equinox. ***** I honestly don't understand why this location received such negative reviews. I just toured and signed up for membership today. Compared to the other gyms, NYSC is a great value. Passport membership was only $75 a month for access to all locations, though I got a corporate discount, so brought it down to $60. The gym has four levels, it's well lit, the locker room is clean, there's towel service, there's a sauna, tons of equipment, and my personal favorite, pilates reformer machines and classes. The reformer classes alone cost $35 a pop anywhere else in the UES. The front desk receptionists were nice and the trainer Jane was very friendly and welcoming. The only other options in the UES would be Crunch fitness, where the monthly rate is $100 for a single location or $270 at Equinox. I've been to Crunch fitness. It's perfectly fine too, and they have great classes, but it was a little too dark and the layout was a little weird. Equinox is great, but for that price point, no thanks. There's the 92Y and Asphalt Green, but again, they are both similar in pricing as Crunch, with access to only one location. I initially thought there wouldn't be enough class offerings for me at NYSC because they don't seem to advertise it online but after signing up, there's an app that you can use to register for the many classes at all their locations, and they are not full. So you can literally take yoga, pilates, HIIT, cycling, martial arts, etc for a fraction of the cost of regular studios. Ultimately, I think NYSC is the best deal in the UES for convenience, variety, quality, and pricing. Side note: I'm a former Class Passer, and I am canceling my subscription plan.”

“I love this place! There is a language barrier but they were always polite and do try. They give a good massage and if you don’t like the way the person you pick does it you can request someone else and they gladly change. As far as people saying that they suggest tips etc..they do but that’s how they make their living. The price is so cheap you don’t mind giving a good tip..(at least you shouldn’t) people probably stuffed them in past! Try going to an American place and see how much you pay for a massage... The foot massage is great also and you can’t beat the price. I always give the gift certificates and people love them!”
