“I had a black tie event yesterday night and I made a last minute appt with Roots last weekend. Thankfully, they made time for me and I snagged a 3PM with Silvia (sp?), the owner. She greeted me warmly, the space was immaculate and inviting, and I felt comfortable immediately. I came in not knowing what I wanted - only pics of my dress and knowing I wanted full hair/makeup. Silvia was patient, kind, and hilarious the whole time. The makeup products she used are top of the line, she sterilized everything, and made me laugh. She worked on my hair, along with Rina, and it felt like I had started my party early! Silvia did full glam on the face, which I didn't think I'd like but I LOVED and got so many compliments on my whole look. Don't skimp out on hair/makeup - it'll make you feel like a million bucks and the pictures of the memory are worth it for sure. I think I paid ~250 (for hair, makeup, 100% attention from 2 stylists, some instant tanner for my pale skin) which is comparable to others in the area in price but Roots is the spot, let me tell you. Quality impeccable - I'm writing this review almost 24 hours after makeup application and it's still amazing (see pic!). I could wear it out tonight again if I wanted! My partner took one look at me and literally said "WOW!" Do yourself a favor and make an appt - I bet they get booked quickly and as I understand, they're only open for appt. “Update: I just brought my second Maplewood baby home last night and he’s perfect. Very obvious that he was a member of the family and not just a money maker. He loves my dog and is great with my other cats. He loves people, very curious and playful, and just an all around sweet, happy little guy. He’s not shy, he loves attention, and his eyes and ears are clear. I’m still shocked at the negative reviews. Absolutely shocked at the negative reviews. I purchased my Bengal from Maplewood two years ago and he’s perfect. His vet always comments on how healthy he is when he goes in for his nail trims. It was so obvious that Thor was part of their family before I brought him home. He was shy for a day or two, and then he took right to me, my other cat, and especially my dog. He’s always been so friendly and so social, just like you would expect from a cat who was bred and raised in a home, as opposed to a “kitten mill.” I was provided with the promised paperwork, so I’m not sure what these people are talking about. I am literally on my way to Maplewood right now with my friend, who is about to put a deposit down on a kitten. Maplewood is fantastic.”
