This is a hidden gem of Alamance County! What a beautiful, wooded trail to get lost in your thoughts and get some exercise in the process. If you haven’t visited before, come on down! You will see a lovely view of Bass Mountain, the highest point East of Greensboro in North Carolina, on your way down the road to the park. Bring the kids and get outdoors and get some fresh air!

Love this natural area. Quite unique for the typical piedmont topography. Expect to see or hear a great variety of birds when they are active, and also gain quite a bit of elevation which is not common in this part of the state (it is the highest peak east of Greensboro).

This is a fantastic place. The trails are clean, well marked, and the view is amazing. What a gem. It’s a short steep hike to the top and well worth it. The little wood bridges are well made over the streams and the parking lot is clean and nice. A wonderful place for a hike.

Nice medium grade loop trail up the mountain and back down. Trail follows a creek at the end of the loop. They recommend you travel in a counter clockwise direction around the loop. Great for kids as there are a lot of rocks for climbing on right beside the trail.

So glad we were finally able to explore this new park! There are bathrooms and a couple of picnic tables by the parking area and two trails, one is 1 mile and the other 2.5 miles. Maps are by the trailhead. We only did the shorter one because some storms were rolling in. Trails are marked really well. Very peaceful, will definitely be back!

Homeless Camps Are Being Cleared in California. What Happens Next?

OAKLAND, Calif. — John Janosko recently moved into a tiny cabin in Oakland, after the city and the state shut down the sprawling homeless encampment where he had resided for most of the past eight years.
