  We have lived in the Charlotte area for 7 years and just discovered this park. It's my new favorite. The play structure was huge. My 4-year-old played nonstop for 2 hours but I also think my 9-year-old would have a great time here. Another bonus is that the little kid play structure is right next to the big kid one so I could watch all the kids at once. The only downside was that the play structure is near a lake and there's no fence. It's far enough away to give you running room if a kid bolts for it, but did require a bit of extra diligence.

  So happy to have this park near our neighborhood. Took the 9 month old out the other day to have a sit in the baby swing and to see the ducks at the front pond. Park ranger came over and got some duck food out for us and got the ducks eating right out of our hands. The trails in the back are really nice and well maintained too. Only negative is there are no changing tables in the bathrooms. Still giving 5 stars.

  Fun for kids if all ages. Many slides and swings including one swing for special needs. Ponds are nice for fishing, several benches and tables for picnics, and a butterfly park. We especially appreciate the bike trails. They are both a good, challenging workout. Long sleeves are suggested for occasional branches across the path. The bike skills course is helpful, but be careful of soft sand coming around the curves.
