  I've been to the Hart Square Festival several times, but seeing the village in the moonlight was really special! The world owes Dr. Hart and his family a tremendous debt for preserving and sharing all those wonderful structures!

  This place is beyond description. With over 100 primitive cabins, it is a step back to another era long lost and forgotten. It's well worth a visit anytime of year.

  What an amazing place! No where else in NC will you find a larger collection of log structures. And on the third Saturday of October each year, you have one chance to see these homes, shops, businesses and crafts in operation. Get there early and stay all day and you still wont be able to see it all and interact with all the knowledgable trades people there.

  This was an credible journey back in time. The docents were so knowledgeable and an artisan sitting on the front porch so enjoyed telling how their intricate article was made. Everything was SO well organized starting with the parking when you arrived. The only suggestion I would have is to have a couple of trash cans on the left side of the village; they seem to be all on the right. A friend of mine also noticed that. Such a GREAT and educational day ! !

  One of a kind experience, an absolute national treasure. Very educational and informative with all of the exhibitions and knowledgeable volunteers. Every one needs to see it once and those who do often make a tradition of it every year.
