  David and Amy are natural hosts with a welcoming smile. They always find time to answer questions or attend to a need.
  Less than a year ago they opened the home as an inn after carefully restoring the house. It is both tastefully decorated and super comfortable! The beds, covered in highest quality soft cotten sheets and duvet, make you feel like you slept on a cloud. Guests look well rested when they come into the dining room for the well selected continental breakfast offerings (which often are complemented with yummy treats like their baked from scratch date nut or banana bread).
  The hosts clearly care about details which make life easier and are very good at keeping all living things - including live plants around the house -healthy and happy!
  David exlicitly invites guests to enjoy the living room as theirs, so they gather in front of the great fireplace, grab a read from the library or relax and enjoy take out supper from one of the local eateries on the porch. As a dog lover who lost her own buddy to old age recently, I am so happy to see their dogs play in the fenced yard. What a great place to come home to after a day of work or visiting family or sites in the area!
  I have staid at many luxury B&Bs around the world and enjoyed them all, but I keep coming back here because there is no better home away from home in this area than the Holly and Ivy Inn!

  The Holly & Ivy Inn is stylish and cozy retreat. David & Amy apparently spent 2 years remodeling the place, and it shows! It’s an old-house feel with modern conveniences tastefully woven in. Each room was thoughfully furnished with period-piece chairs, tables and chests and the walls studded with unique art. Our closet had plenty of hooks, a whole tower of storage drawers and a mini-fridge.
  
  Sleep came easy on a memory foam mattress, feather pillows and down comforter. Bathroom was well-stocked with spa-grade hair & body products, thick towels and a hair dryer. We requested an iron and ironing board to prepare for a wedding, and they were already waiting when we arrived. The large screen TV in our room had Netflix and Hulu already connected. Bottled waters graced our nightstand, but there was a fresh supply in the hallway should we wish for more.
  
  The upscale continental breakfast included a wide variety of cold cereal and oatmeal toppings (dried dates, pecans, walnuts, sliced almonds), jams, fresh fruit and pastries. The fridge was stocked each morning with sliced ham and summer sausage, cheese, Greek and regular yogurt, fruit cups, fresh sliced berries, boiled eggs, and applesauce. Milk, juices and sodas were available around the clock as well as a full Keurig coffee & tea bar. A variety of snacks was always available in the fridge and on the buffet table. We even spotted supplies for making s’mores outside at the firepit! Forget foam or paper plates…here one eats with real silverware and dishes, with a bin available to collect used dishware.
  
  We didn’t have the pleasure of meeting Amy, but David was an excellent host, helping us with luggage and providing a grand tour at our arrival after demonstrating the functioning of the outdoor and room locks. He was both gracious and personable. We definitely plan to come back!

  Just returned home from a very memorable visit! The home is lovely and the host and hostess are very gracious and accommodating. Rooms are spacious and immaculate, and the bed was very comfy. Many breakfast items to satisfy any craving. Within walking distance to restaurants and adorable little shops in Newton. Short drive to Hickory which has a lot to offer. We hope to return very soon!

  Extra special surprise! Last minute call got last room. This is a gem! Everything provided. Immaculate, self serve breakfast just like (better) than home, easy upbeat Inn keepers and easy access parking with entry close to car. Will be back again.

I had a wonderful week at the Holly and Ivy Inn! It is a beautiful and special place to stay! I hope to have the opportunity to stay here again soon! The Holly & Ivy Inn, hosted by David, is a lovely, more traditional B&B. Everything was comfortable, clean, and easy.
