I moved here in December of 2019 into a 2 bedroom apartment, and I have been very pleased with my living experience here ever since! Prices are definitely not cheap, but I feel they are very reasonable considering all the amenities (pool, gym, etc.) that come with the apartment and how well kept they are. Management and maintenance crews are very professional and responsive, and the community is very diverse and friendly. I had some issues getting a parking space in the parking garage in the first month I was here, but I feel the management handled it super well, and was doing everything they could. My one suggestion for improvement would be to have recycling and/or compost bins around the indoor and outdoor common areas. Other than that, it's a great place in great location with a great community! Would recommend it to a friend any day!

It's a friendly community to live in. The building is charming and well kept with a relaxing court yard and pool and gym. My unit is a good size with a good view. There is very little building noise. The laundry room has plenty of machines, so there is rarely a wait time. The mail delivery is great. I love Lake Merritt which is why I chose to view the apartment. It's been a pleasurable experience from the start. Stockwell is a real treat for a different amenity.

I worked with Paul during my latest apartment search, and found him to be available, helpful, prepared, and very friendly. It was easy to be honest with him about what I liked and disliked, so the process of exploring and narrowing down the available options was enjoyable and efficient. He also served as a knowledgeable sounding board as I thought through important details like floor plan and length of lease. Finally, he has a very good sense of humor, which allowed me to feel comfortable at all times.

The only reason I gave four stars (instead of five) is that I don't live there YET. I fully expect, however, that I will be returning to (positively) to his review to update my rating once I do. In the meantime, I highly recommend anyone looking for an apartment in Oakland to contact the Merritt on 3rd.
