  We have been part of the Durham Community Preschool (DCP) family for three wonderful years. We have been so impressed by the dedication of the staff and the executive director, Rose Volponi, to our kids' growth and development. The teachers have become a part of our lives due to their consistent care and attention to our girls. We are so lucky to have found this gem in Durham. Our kids have flourished here and are more prepared for Kindergarten than most of their friends. Moreover, we have made life-long friends within the DCP community, and are so proud to be a part of it. I would highly recommend this school to everyone!

  We're starting our second year at Durham Community Preschool and love it. The teachers and staff are fantastic and we love the nurturing environment for our little guy.

  Our child has been attending DCP since she turned 6 months old. It has been an amazing place for her to learn and grow. The planned activities in the classroom are very learning-focused and the teachers have an excellent capability to relate to each student. Highly recommended!

  My 4 years old son is always happy and he loves to go to school every day.
  This class is perfect to get your children ready for kindergarten.

  This school is a hidden gem. My daughter has been there for over three years and the quality of the program, the people, and the director far surpasses all expectations. They are very attuned to development appropriate curriculum with awesome toys and sensory tables. It is a very nurturing and child centered place and my two kids love it! The crafts they bring home are incredible (dinosaur feet, headdress, and tail! plants for our yard! cool textured mixed media pieces, yes please!). The two -three class has such great potty routines that they potty trained my oldest for me!
  
  Rose the director is wonderfully affirming, especially when I was a new parent and went through all sorts of first child phases (I had an aggressive one year old and thought I would get kicked out! But instead it was "that will serve her well later on!). Rose brings in her own parenting into her role and brings that compassion into the school. She treats you with so much respect. No concern is too little and no problem underneath her interest.
  
  I also love the community of the school. The "chill" and uber cool families make it have a great mojo. There are really neat people and families here. Also, this school is more 'diverse' than other schools. I appreciate the fact they will have male teachers, teachers of all backgrounds and attract families of types. It has been a great place for my children to play, to learn, and to make friends! And you can't beat its price for the quality of care from the teachers and the director!
