Salem Lake is huge. The trail is 7 miles long. U can walk it or ride a bike or horse around it while others take a boat or canoe out on the lake. They have a public restroom @ the parking lot by the fenced n playground. My dog enjoyed sniffing everything & peeing everywhere but it would have been much better with a fenced n dog park area but they do provide dog waste areas. It was clean, well maintained & beautiful. I will post the pictures I took 2day.
A great 7 mile stretch around the lake. It's hard packed dirt and gravel so it's great for walking/running and biking. People bring their horses to ride and I have even seen a couple goats being walked. If you have a boat and like to fish, you can do that. There have been some canoes and paddle boarders, too. It's super crowded on the weekends. Keep that in mind. Also, if storms/ heavy rains have rolled through, there can he some downed trees and washout. It just makes a cool obstacle course... but you will have to heft your bike over the trees.
A nice walk and easy trail
Very nice path for walking, running, or biking! Parts of the path (7 miles) are paved but most are not! Some spots are a bit rough but it is a nice place that is covered with all these awesome trees!! You can fish on a boat on the lake but cannot shore fish! I was there with my mountain bike and saw all sorts of people doing different activities!
Great place with a great lake view the whole pathe, easy to ride. My 6 year old son rode the whole loop with only a couple breaks, so proud of him!
