  Our daughter has been riding at this barn for almost ten years! Jon & Carolyn go above and beyond with their students as well as with their horses. We could not be more blessed to be a part of this barn family!

  I’ll give them four because of how clean and groomed the animals are. The place itself is okay too. Otherwise the guiders are a little impatient. I took my siblings in law to ride, they said they had fun but they didn’t like how the guides were being a bit impatient. They are first timers you don’t have to be inpatient. But otherwise the horses were good and fun. The guiders were nice to let first timers ride trails.

  A wholehearted thank you to Carolyn and Jon for their hospitable welcome on my daughter Charlotte’s first riding lesson. Charlotte thoroughly enjoyed her tiny tot session, engaged well with Gus who gave her a wonderful ride, and she wouldn’t stop talking about all she learned from Ms. Taylor, her new teacher! I was impressed by the facilities, loved meeting all the students who very work hard to learn such a beautiful sport and walked away certain that we would return. I’m eager to see what my little 3.5 year old will develop with your amazing staff and honored she can work with your gorgeous animals. I signed up after our first lesson and hope to have my daughter grow weekly in her riding skill set. Thank you for providing such an amazing experience.

  We first saw Jon Walker Stables for a our daughter's 7th birthday party in May 2017, and it was a blast! The kids all had a great time, EVERYONE was able to ride the horses in the indoor ring and experience the fun of riding. A few kids even signed up for lessons at the party.
  When we discussed signing our daughter up for further lessons early this year, we did look at other options in the area, but we thought Jon Walker was the best option. Nothing wrong with the other stables, that all ended up being neighbors, but we liked the atmosphere at Jon Walker and the communication and scheduling better. The prices aren't outrageous, but I think Jon Walker is a great value for the experience and teaching you are getting.
  Caroline is a very upfront and honest instructor, she was very willing to discuss what the initial lessons would entail and the process of lessons, learning, and experience built upon. She was also great about being practical on the front of what would be expected if we decided to try competition riding down the road, and that was great knowledge to help decide how far into riding we want to go and what would be expected of our daughter if she wanted to do that. Having never ridden a horse, this was all new to me, and I'm glad that I was able to have this discussion up front, no surprises down the road.
  Taylor is an amazing teacher for the newer riders, she has amazing patience and really guides the riders to learn the terms and get comfortable working with the horses. My daughter loves to interact with her, she's not upset when given corrections on her riding, it's all very professional and supportive. She even fell off the horse one day, but bounced right up, and at the end said it was her favorite day!
  It's been awesome watching my daughter learn responsibility at the stable, helping to put the gear on and off the horses, building her confidence, learning it's a sport and takes control.
  We've had nothing but good experiences with Jon Walker Stables, and I'd recommend it to anyone looking to start their kid in riding or look for lessons as an adult.

  The staff is amazingly knowledgeable and friendly. They take a true holistic approach with teaching not just riding skills, but also teaching the fundamentals of horses and safety. The staff promotes healthy self-esteem and self-confidence with their riders. The trainers truly care about the riders and put an emphasis on ensuring all riders are paired with a horse of their skill level so that the riders walk away feeling good about themselves and more confident with each ride. They plan fun activities for the kids to participate with year round. I highly recommend Jon Walker Stables without reservation. It is a genuinely fun experience.
