Have been coming to this location for over twenty years and have always been very satisfied. Dr. Patel is a wonderful, caring and encouraging physician, and his whole staff is awesome. My only beef came today when I learned they have decided to use the hospital to do all their lab work going forward with no notification to their patients. I now receive a $300+ bill from the hospital for lab work that cost me $0 over the past 20 years because it was covered by my insurance. The insurance does not cover labwork done by the hospital. I’m surely not the only one of their patients in this boat. So, if you’re choosing this practice, rest assured you will receive excellent care, but make sure your insurance is going to cover your lab work. After more than 20 years, I am now going to have to go to an outside lab where no one knows my name to have my lab work done then sent over to the doctor. A little advance notice on the part of Caromont Family Medicine would have been appreciated.
